In the courac of our discussion, you raised a point whether it would not be possible to sia et something below the 1941 scale for the present, thas reducing recurrent and capital costs, until the finsucial position in Hong Kong is clearer and /or the situation here 06008. I think that the ansvor to this is that the 131;1 scale reprosents about the minimum required to enable the University to function as such and that anything less would be lico patible with the view that bue Univeredey should be kept in being.
