An Ordinance for the Prevention of Corrupt and Illegal

Practices at Municipal Elections.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the

advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as

follows:-

Short title.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Corrupt and

Illegal Practices Ordinance, 194

Interpretation.

2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise

requires,

"Candidate" means a person elected, or having been

nominated and consented to nomination as a candidate for the

office of councillor on the Hong Kong Municipal Council.

"Council" means the Hong Kong Municipal Council

established under the Municipal Council Ordinance, 194

"Court" means the Supreme Court in its Original

Jurisdiction.

"Election" means the election of any member or members

to serve on the Hong Kong Municipal Council.

"Voter" means any person who has or claims to have

right to vote in the election of a member or members to

serve on the Hong Kong Municipal Council.
