Personal qualification.
6.
(1) A person, in order to have the requisite
property qualification for a constituency, must during the
whole of the period of twelve months immediately preceding the
application for registration ·
(a) have owned a tenement within the constituency
assessed for rates to an amount of not less than
two hundred dollars per annum; or
(b) have occupied as tenant the whole of a tenement
within the constituency in respect whereof rates
assessed to an amount of not less than two hundred
dollars per annum have been paid, or have occupied
as tenant for the purposes of his business, profession
or trade the ground floor of such a tenement as
aforesaid; or
(c) in respect of tenements within the villages, or areas
specified in the First Schedule to this Ordinance,
(1) have owned such a tenement assessed for rates
at not less than twenty dollars per annum, or
(ii) have occupied as tenant the whole of such a
tenement in respect whereof rates assessed at
not less than twenty dollars have been paid.
(2) For the purposes of this section the rates in respect
of any tenement shall be deemed to have been paid during the
whole of the period of twelve months preceding the application
for registration if no default has been made in the payment of
the rates in respect of such tenement as and when the same
became due.
(3) The Governor in Council may from time to time amend
Λ the said First Schedule in such manner as he may think fit.
7.- (1) A person, in order to have the requisite personal
qualification for a constituency, must at the time of application
for registration be -
(a) a person whose name is included in the Jury Lists
then ourrent or whose name was previously included
in the Jury Lists but has been omitted or removed
therefrom; or
