8.66 delite-

Filling of casual vacancies in case of nominated councillors.

from the Colony, upon the date on which his

office is declared to have been vacated either

by the Supreme Court or by the Council as the

case may be; and

(g) in the case of a nomination made under section 6

of this Ordinance, where the Governor in Council

has decided that such nomination is not valid,

the date on which the office is declared by the

Council to have been vacated.

29.

(1) On a casual vacancy occurring in the office

of Chairman of the Council an election to fill the vacancy shall be held not later than the next (ordinary meeting of

the Council held after the date on which the vacancy occurs,

or if that meeting is held within fourteen days after that date, then not later than the next following ordinary meeting of the Council, and shall be conducted in the same manner as

an ordinary election.

(2) A meeting of the Council for the election of a

Chairman may be convened by the clerk of the Council.

(3) On a casual vacancy occurring in the office of

vice-chairman of the Council, the Council shall, as soon as

may be, at an ordinary meeting of the Council appoint a member of the Council to fill the vacancy.

30. Subject to the provisions of section 32 of this

Ordinance, on a casual vacancy occurring among the nominated members of the Council (including any member or members

appointed by the Governor under the provisions of section 6 of this Ordinance) the body which appointed the councillor whose vacation of office caused the vacancy shall, within thirty days from the declaration of the vacancy by the Council, nominate a member to fill the vacancy and the provisions of sub-sections (3) to (7) inclusive of section 6 of this

Ordinance shall apply, mutatis mutandis.
