Vacation of office by failure to attend meetings, &c.

(c) a Justice of the Peace or Magistrate
within the Colony;
(d) a Commissioner appointed to administer
oaths in the Supreme Court.
(4) Any person before whom a declaration is authorized
to be made under this section may take the declaration.

(5) The Governor in Council may alter or amend the
form in the said Fourth Schedule or prescribe another form
of declaration in lieu thereof.
Vacation of Office
25. A person elected to the office of Chairman
Vice-Chairman of the Council or elected, nominated or
appointed to the office of councillor may at any time resign his office by writing signed by him (in this Ordinance referred to as the "notice of resignation") and delivered to
the Clerk of the Council and his resignation shall take effect
upon receipt of the notice of resignation by the Clerk of the
Council.

(1) If a member of the Council fails throughout
a period of six consecutive months to attend any meeting of
the Council, he shall, unless the failure was due to some
reason approved by the Council, cease to be a member of the
Council:
Provided that
(a) attendance as a member at a meeting of any
committee or sub-committee of the Council
shall be deemed for the purposes of this
sub-section to be attendance at a meeting of
the Council;
(b) a member of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force
or the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Reserve or the
Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps or the
Auxiliary or Affiliated Units thereof or the
