Engagement.
(g) Pensions.
Candidates appointed on probation will be
required to pass prescribed examinations in Cantonese and Law before confirmation
to the permanent Establishment. Failure to pass may entail the withholding of increments.
Candidates on transfer will also be required to pass such examinations, and failure to pass may entail the withholding of increments.
Retirement is compulsory at the age of 55, and
with permission at 45. Pension is at the rate of 1/600th of final pensionable emoluments for every month of service, up to a maximum of 2/3rds of final pensionable emoluments.
(h) Leave. One day for every seven days resident service. In
addition local leave of 15 days a year.
