Thank you for your letter of the 18th February; I am sorry to have been so long in replying but it was necessary to check up the precise position. We have now received a further telegram from Hong Kong saying that another eight vacancies in the Police Inspectorate have occurred, but so far no reply has come from Palestine regarding individuals recommended for your service.
Meanwhile we have informed the Crown Agents that there are three posts of sub- inspector of Police in hong Kong to be filled and have suggested that they should get in touch with you to enable you to recommend your three candidates.
The Crown Agents have of course been given your aduress.
I hope this clears up the query contained in your letter.
