Vacancies for 22 sub-inspectors of police in
The Inspector General of Police has recommended
32 officers whose names are listed on the attached nominal
roll. He states that they have been very carefully. seeded by a selection board from a total of some 250 applicants.
A small number of men aged over thirty have been recomended. The Inspector General states that they are all outstanding
policemen and he is sure that they will prove to be of the greatest value to Hong Kong. Only 2 inspectors volunteered.
There are no personnel at present in the United

The majority of the personnel concerned are
anxious to enjoy a brief period of leave in the United
Kingdom prior to proceeding to Hong Kong.

The Commissioner of rolice, Hong Kong, who is now on vacation leave in the UK, has requested that he should be given the opportunity to study the foregoing recommendations prior to his departure for Hong Kong on the 9th April.
