three vacancies for Europe an Sub- Inspectors of Police, Hong Kong, we have the honour to inform you that one of the three candidates recommended for appointment by Mr. D. W. MacIntosh, Commissioner of Police, Hong Kong, has failed to pass the medical examination.

We are taking no further action in this office to fill the third vacancy, as we understand that this will now be filled by the transfer of a member of the Pale Fine Police Force.
