maximum of 23rds of final pensionable emoluments.

Pensions are payable subject to completion of ten

years' service and retirement on grounds of age or

111-health. Pension may be converted, subject to

option exeróised within a prescribed period, to a

reduced pension (three-quarters of full pension)

plus dump sum (ten times one quarter of full pension).

Retirement on pension may be permitted or may be

ordered at any time on or after attaining the age of

45. A confirmed officer retiring on the grounds of

111-health before comple ting 10 years' continuous

service may be granted a gratuity.

Fámished quarters will be provided on

deduction of not more than one-geventh of basic

salary, but in most cases it will be less then

this figure.

Free uniform of an approved pattern and

sdale (including boots and/or shoes) is provided.

12. Loave is granted at the rate of one day for

every seven days' resident service. Looal leave of

fifteen days a year may also be taken,

13. Free bacond-class passages are provided for

an officer, and his family, up to a maximum of four

full fares, once every four years, which is the

normal tour of duty. Officers may be required to

travel by air when proceeding on or returning from

leave.

Facilities for free medical treatment, and

dental treatment at special rates, are available in

the Colony.
