(e) Period of Engagement:
Candidates appointed on probation will be required to pass prescribed examination in Cantonese and Law before confirmation to the permanent establishment. Candidates on transfer will also be required to pass such examination, and failure to pass may entail the withholding of increments.
(f) Pensions:
Retirement is compulsory at the age of 55, and with permission at 45. Pension is at the rate of 1/600th of final pensionable emolument for every month of service, up to a maximum of 2/3rds of final pensionable emoluments.
