I approve in principle appointment of Sub-
Inspectors temporarily supernumerary to establishment
to replace officers now on leave prior to retirement.
I note that you would prefer candidates with
experience and that you would welcome transfers from
Palestine. Prospects of recruitment from that
source are good and MacIntosh will be consulted when
he arrives in this country.
