of' the 10th September enclosed with Mr. Edmonds

of the 27th September, the Governor considers that

as the Indians are in the position of expatriate

officers it is reasonable that they should receive

extra remuneration as compared with locally domiciled

particieni

officers as it is inevitable in present circumstances

erspas

that they should be separated from their families for

some time.

The relation of the "high cost of living allowance"

plus the "rehabilitation allowance" is not quite cleur

to us from the papers we have here and we are asking

the Governor to elucidate the matter.

Yours sincerely,

(3:3)
