From the adjustment on this account has been made in War Office books. information at present available we are unable to trace any War Office papers dealing with the matter, and in order that we may take the action necessary to clear these items we should be glad to be furnished as early as possible with such War Office references as are available, e.g., the War Office number of the telegram dated 25.10.46.
(a) It is noted that further recoveries totalling $989,713.86 (£61,857 2.4) have since been made leaving a balance at present outstanding in the Hong Kong B. M. A. advance accounts of $2,310,086.62 (£144,380 8. 3.) and we shall be glad to receive payment of the additional sums recovered less the adjustments necessary on account of items shown in the reconciliation at paragraph 3(b) above.

(e) It is agreed and fully appreciated that Hong Kong B.M. A. Advance
Accounts should not take into consideration the sale of B.M. A.
stores.
