War expenditure settlements.
Please see my savingram No.40 despatched
on 9th June.
The settlement has been accepted somewhat Poluctantly and may now be regarded as past history unless it should happen that "éanial" claims hare to be met in full by this Government, It is alao possible that the question of war expenditure will be revived if construction of new airport cannot be financed in part from proceeds of sale of Kal-tak Hong Kong) The finenoial arrangements proposed for airport have not been well received locally.
