An Ordinance to make provision for the raising of loans to defray extraordinary expenditure arising in con- nection with the enemy occupation of Malaya and for the purposes of rehabilitation.

It is hereby enacted by the Governor of the Colony of Singapore in accordance with the provisions of section 40 of the Singapore Colony Order in Council, 1946, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Loan Ordin- Short title.

2. In this Ordinance :-

"the Bank" means any Bank authorised by the Financial Secretary to issue and manage any of the loans issued under the provisions of this Ordinance and includes all branches, agencies and sub-agencies of any such Bank; "the Secretary of State" means His Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies.
