excluding the cost of the site, may be made towards the building of a new school or for extension or structural repairs to an existing school, when such building, extension, or structural repair is recommended by the Director of Education and approved by Government.

47.

When recommended by the Director of Education sites for Grant School buildings and playing fields may with the approval of Government be granted on special or nominal terms.

48.

The site, plans, estimates, specifications, title and trust deeds of any new building for which a grant is requested shall be approved by Government.

49.

When a Building Grent is made for the erection of new or additional premises the trustees or other legal representatives of the school must state by a Declaration of Trust to be registered in the Land Office.

50.

(a) That the premises (excluding eny parts used for quarters

for pupils or staff, chapels or religious activities, or any other non-Gront School activities) will be used solely for epproved educational purposes.

(b) That the school will be managed in accordance with

the Grant Code in force for the time-being, and with all other Regulations for the Conduct of Grant Schools. (c) That no mortgage has been or will be taken on the

premises or on any part of the premises without the prior approval of the Director of Education. (a) That if they should hereafter desire to release

themselves from the foregoing obligations, or if the

or action school should cease through fault/of its own to be an approved Grant School, they will repay the whole amount of Building Grant received, and if the site was granted on special terms will make any additional peyment in respect of the site as Government shall consider proper in regard to the particular circumstances

of the case.

An approved Building Grant is payable when the P.N.D. has certified that the building is satisfactorily completed according to the approved estimates and specifications, and when a certificate (with balance sheet enrexed) is presented by the trustees or other legal representatives of the school, setting forth that the building and covonents are completed and that the money in hand will, when added to the grant, meet all claims and finally close the account. In special cases Government may pay part of the Building Grant in advance as the building is erected, if the Contractors require more than half the total cost to be paid in advance.
