The building subsidy is payable on presentation of a certificate (with balance sheet annexed) by the trustees or other legal representatives of the schol, setting forth that the building and Covenants are completed and that the money in hand will, when added to the subsidy, moet all claims and finally close the account.

subsity of at least one-half of the actual cost may be made in aid of furniture or equipment of a permanent or semi-permanent nature which in the opinion of the Director of Education is necessary for any course of instruction approved by him.
Regulations for the Conduct of Subsidised Schools.
23. Schools shall observe all regulations made from time to time under the Education Ordinance.
24. Schools must be open at all reasonable times to inspection with or without notice by any officer authorised by Government.
25. No child shall be refused admission on other than reasonable grounds.
26. Schools shall provide in whole or in part a primary course approved by the Director of Education. They may provide in addition a middle school course approved by the Director, but in no case will a subsidy be paid in respect of higher standards except to schools providing all the lower standards leading up to them.
27. No urban school shall be eligible for subsidy whose average attendance for the period in respect of which a subsidy is claimed was less than 80.
28.. In each school there shall be a head teacher responsible for supervising the teaching and maintaining discipline in the school.
29. The correspondent shall provide suitable attendance registers and such other books of record and account as the Director of Education may from time to time prescribe. He shall see that they are regularly, promptly and accurately kept, and submitted to the Director together with any other prescribed returns at such place and at such intervals as the Director may decide.
30. A school shall meet regularly every day except for the customary vacations and holidays approved in advance by the Director of Education; provided that if the school has been compulsorily closed by lawful authority or has otherwise failed for whatever cause to meet without obtaining the Director's permission in advance and reports the circumstances to the Director at the earliest occasion, the Director may in his discretion exempt from the operation of this rule.

The correspondent shall promptly notify the Director of Education should the school close on account of sickness and shall promptly comply with any order given by the Director for its closure or for the exclusion of particular pupils from attendance.
