will in no case relieve the Department from the rosponsibility of completing G.F.113. All entries on G. F.113 will also be recorded at the same time on the duplicate of G.F.112 which will therefore serve as a prmanent departmental record of the officer's leave. In the event of an officer being posted to another department the card will be forwarded to that department for retention. The Leave Records shall be open to inspection by the Establishment Branch of the Secretariat who may call for them from time to time for reference or checking purposes.
(b) Action by the Director of Medical Services.
The Director of Medical Services will retain the cards G.F. 112 received from departments and will maintain thereon a complete record of each officer's leave by extracting details from the relevant entries on G.F.113 as and when received from departments. After scrutiny in the Medical Department (in the case of sick leave) to ensure that the type of sickness or disease has been correctly expressed the cards G.F.112 will be forwarded (for the first time only) to the Coverment Statistician. In the case of subsequent entries, only the leave returns G.F.113 will be forwarded. The Director of Medical Services will observe whether the correct amount of sick leave has been granted in accordance with his previous recommendations and, among other things may, in the event of it being evident that an officer has had intermittent sick leave over long periods, recommend a Medical Board in accordance with General Orders.
(c) Action by the Government Statistician.

On receipt of the forms from the Director of Medical Services the Government Statistician will, in the first instance, allot a Code Number to each officer and enter it in the appropriate place on both types of form. He will then Code, punch on individual Hollerith cards, and tabulate the data reported. When the necessary information has been extracted from the foms G.F.112 will be returned to the Direct or of Medical Services and the Leave Returh. G.F. 113 returned direct to the departments concerned endorsed as "Tabulated" for en el o sur e as a check in the officer's personal file.
