of the Deputy Financial Secretary at rates to be decided in each case but not higher than those specified above oven if they are not qualified for allowances under paragraph 6.

8. All claims for accommodation and subsistence allowances included in pay sheets must be supported by a certificate from the head of department that it was necessary for the officer to be away from his headquarters or from his place of abode for the period stated and, in the case of accommodation allowance, that expense for accommodation was incurred. If required, such certi- ficates must be supported by an extract from diaries.

9. The rates of these allowances will be reviewed and amended periodically.

Allowancos already drawn at a higher rate since 1st April, 1948, will not be refunded.
