113A. WATER METER RENT. Rent for water meters installed in quarters occupied by any officer entitled to free quarters is paid by the Government.

113B. RELOVALS. An officer may have his effects removed from one tenement to another by the Stores Department without charge if he is required so to remove by the Government and either he is entitled to free quarters or is moving for the purposes of his work.

Occupants of Government quarters are responsible for keeping them in proper order. They will provide and maintain at their own cost such items as are usually provided and maintained, under the customary covenant between landlord and tenant, by tenants renting houses, such as electric light bulbs, dust-bins, etc.

All defects shall be reported to the Public Works Department. Occupants will be held responsible for all damage to structure, fixtures, or furniture, not caused by fair war and tear.

Additions or alterations to electric wiring in Government Buildings, or in tenements rented by Government may only be carried out by the Electrical Office, to which any defects in electrical installations should be reported. Complaints should be confirmed in writing to the Engineer in Charge of the Electrical Office. Any damage resulting from failure to observe this rule will be made good at the expense of the tenant responsible.

(1) Furniture is supplied to Government quarters in accordance with the

approved lists and designs. With the special permission of Government furniture may be supplied to privately rented quarters, but the officer may be called upon to bear the cost of any removal by the Stores Department of the furniture within one year of its supply. No furniture supplied either to Government quarters or to rented quarters may be removed except by the Stores Department.

Every officer on entering into occupation of Govermant quarters shall sign an inventory of the furniture, fixtures, etc., prepared by the Public Works Department, and shall give a receipt for the keys, padlocks, etc. handed over to him.

(3) Where new furniture is supplied to an officer he should, within

three months from the date of its supply, draw the attention of the Controller of Stores to any defects which may have developed. The se defects will be made good by the Contractors free of cost. Subsequent to this period the officer will be held responsible.

Every officer vacating Government quarters shall report through the Head of his Department the date of leaving them to the Accountant- General at least three months and to the Public Works and Stores Departments at least seven days before he leaves. If special circumstances render it impossible to give at least three months notice to the Accountant-General, the officer will be held responsible for giving notice at the earliest possible opportunity before leaving. He will be held responsible for the prompt return to the Controller of Stores of all keys, padlocks, etc., supplied to him.
