(4) The allotment, cancellation thereof end reallotment of quarters
may be made for any period, howover short, as may at any time seem best in the interests of the Service; but when quarters are allotted to any officer of not less than 20 years service, or to an officer of a class mentioned in sub-paragraph (3) (i) or (ii), whatever his priority he shall be ontitled, if and while he has dependants, to occupy the same quarters for the remainder of his service, unless some other officer is already so entitled to the quarters.
108. RENT FOR QUARTERS.
(1) Every officer not entitled to free quarters shall be liable
to pay rent for quarters occupied by or allotted to him for the whole period of such occupation or allotment.
(2)
Subject to the directions of the Governor in particular cases, rent for quarters shall be a proportion of salary, viz:

Furnished

Rent for quarters which an officer is required to occupy in connection with his work, at or near his working premises may be reduced by such proportion as the Governmont shall direct.
109. RENT ALLOWANCE.

Rent allowance, when no fixed allowance is provided, shall be a sum equal to the rent paid by an officer for a privately owned tenement or for lodgings, or if that rent is greater than the maximum rent for the time being prescribed for him in this' Order, a sum equal to such maximum rent, less, in either case, the sum, if any, which he would pay as rent for quarters if he occupied quarters.
For the purpose of assessing rent allowance, the following maximum monthly rents are prescribed;
(a) For officers on sterling salaries in the three categories enumerated in G.0.108 (2):
