These scales were in fact based on
new scales for Senior Nursing Sisters and Tutor Sisters respectively, but it is considered desirable to retain the present two years on the initial step of the scale in each case, as this was intended to meet cases of appointment to these posts from outside the service. I should be grateful if you would confirm that the scales may remain as notified to you in my Savingram (10), No. 207 Staff of 2nd June, 1948.
