Women Executive Officers.
It has been found expedient to appoint a few women officers as Executive Officers Class II.
2. In accordance with the recomendations contained in paragraph 33 of the Salaries Commission Report, a scale has been worked out at approximately 80 of the male scale with the usual slight adjustments to allow even increments. The scales for Women Confidential Assistants have been kept in view in formulating this scale, for while dfferent qualifications are required for a Women Executive Officer, it was considered proper to keep some relation between the two scales.
3. The proposed scale in colum 3 was therefore worked out as follows:-

As it was believed that your specific approval of this scale was not required in vie. of your general approval of the Salaries Commission Report, appointments have already been made on the scale shown in para 3., but I now request your specific covering approval of this scale, as the Director of Audit considers that this is necessary under Colonial Regulation No.267.
5. To save repeated requests for similar approval of female scales in every case where it is fond necessary to appoint women to posts hitherto held by male officers where specific female scales have not been laid down, I further request blanket approval for these scales if worked out in accordance with the Salaries Commission Report.
