It will be seen that the difference is
very considerable.It cannot be justified by the
higher rent charges in Hong Kong and unless it can
be justified on some other grounds, i.e., of
greater responsibility or possibly on the
-grounds that the latrons in Malaya receive
emoluments in kind which are not enjoyed by the
Matrons in Hong Kong. it is considered that the
salaries proposed for these two posts should be
reduced.
