(7) Nursing Sisters and Senior

Nursing Sisters

It is considered that the two separate

grades should be abolished and that lursing

Sisters should be placed on one long scale

450 to 800 (basic) per mensen with an

efficiency bar at 600 (£437.10.0 - £550 -

£580 2725 per annum for expatriate officers).

This would be in accordance with an arrangement

recently adopted in East Africa.

It is considered that this grade should

be retained.

of Principal Matron is £500 £600. The revised

salary proposed by the Commission is £1160 per

annum (£960 basic plus £200). The scale at

responsible ones, especially the Principal Matron,

who is an Administrative officer in charge of all

nursing arrangements in all Government and Aided

hospitals in Hong Kong. Nevertheless the proposed

salaries for these posts appear to have been fixed

at a very high level in comparison with similar

posts elsewhere. For example the salaries
