It has not (repeat not) yet been possible to prepare satisfactory cost of living index in Melaya and it is Zelt that the problem of devising suitable formula should be considered at the earliest possible dete by a joint committee set up under paragraphe 32 and 33 of Trusted Report. Committee should also attempt to reconcile apparently different principles followed by Trasted and the Wagos Commission.

Melayan Government therefore agrees with views expressed in paragraph 2 of Hong Kong Solegram No.1916 as to Pollance on appointment of a commiibes, and would propose to rombins any announcement regarding the adjustment of cost of living allowance with announcement of decision on mela Trusted recommendations.
