Resummandation that all
emolume gts should ik future by expressed in Hong Kong currency. In lettura axplaining revised conditions of service, which ure now beinų, sent to all permane rit pensionable officera, it is stated that salaries of al officers electing to tuae on to the new conditions of cervice will lo future be on ilong Kong dollar basis. Reference to pension has been omitted, but expatriated officers will be certain to ask whether their eventual pensions will also be on a Hong Kong dollar basis or whether exchange rule used by the Commission can be Euaranteed. I should be grateful for an early expression of your views on this point. Possibly existing procedure in Malaya or other Colonies where emoluments are on local currency basis will provide the solution.
