Expatriation pay.
One effect of acceptance of revised rate is to reduce total pensionable emoluments recommended by Commission for Director of Audit. Since this is a grade I post in audit service and holder is unlikely to receive further promotion I recommend that basic salary be increased from £1,550 to £1,600! This will give pensionable emoluments of £1,880 as against £1,850 in Nigeria, but difference would be offset by higher rent deduction in Hong Kong of, approximately £228 as against £150 in Nigeria.
Grateful for telegraphic approval, since present Director of Audit goes on leave prior to retirement at the beginning of March.
