I came to H.K. age 2. Lived here with respectable parents. Lived here practically all time. Went to St. Mary's School. Then to Kwong Wah School. Then to Pui Ching School. Gave no trouble to parents till now. Refused to attem Jap. sponsored schools. Schooling stopped at 13. Some tutoring followed, until H.C.L. made this impossible. Became travelling trader at 15. Contributed to family's support. Downfall due to association with 2, who is 21. 2 said he was Chinese Army Major, attached to Kunming Flying School. He was in uniform. Told 1 he would teach him to fly if he stuck to him. Came under 2's influence. Spent several nights out of house. 1 has assisted father since re-occupation in running vessels allocated to him. Just outside Juvenile offenders Crdinance. Difference qua sentence is enormous. Should be considered by Court. Consider: Judgment or consideration which accused could bring to bear when asked to take part in crime.
Disruptive effect on his education of Jap. occupation. Brutalised him.
Toy pistol used. Servity of sentence in armed robbery is connected very often with fact that lethal weapon is used.
