Personal Emoluments
The only change in staff is the abolition of
the post of temporary Superintendent with the retiroment of the present holder. Personal Emoluments are reduced by $9,948.
Other Charges
Maintenance of Gardens and Grounds is increased by $40,800 as the department has now taken over responsibility for the care of all grounds formerly under the carc of the Public Works and Education Departments. Provision is made separately for Books and Publications, $4,000, Uniforms $2,500 and Office Furniture and Equipment $1,000.

Vehicles is increased by $2,500 but Travelling

One of these replaced by an Airport Officer. The title of the former Marine Supervisor has been changed to Airport Officer. The temporary Airport Officer shown in the 1946/47 Estimates has been replaced by an Assistant Airport Officer Grade II. Provision is made for one additional Office Assistant and one Head Guard and one assistant Head Guard (all temporary posts). These appointments have become necessary owing to the increase in air traffic and the number of planes which now have to be guarded at night. Emoluments is $2,632.
