There is still no early prospect of securing

suitable Government Officer from this country.

Malaya is also seeking a similar officer and hap been informed that S.8. Rosa, age 41, at present serving as Organisation and Methode expert attached to Government of Bengal has expressed himself as interested in possibility of employment in Melaya for period of one year, He will be free not later than October, 1948.

Present emoluments including allowances are believed to be about £2,000 or £2,500 a year. Treasury regarà hìn 26 very well qualified. He has been trained by Treasury and in

5. Possibility of Hong Kong employment has not been put to Ross. Please telegraph whether you would wiah hâm to be approached and it so what terme should be offered. I undora tand Rosa 10 likely to prefer assigament of longes duration than the three to six months you had in mind and may therefore be more attracted by Kalayan prospect, It might however be possible to arrange for him to do Hong Kong job first and then take up Malayan post.
