ENCLOSURES

FURTHER ACTION

Dear Dr. Gordon King,

Thank you very much for your letters end enclosures of 23rd orch. I was most interested to red the account of the conferrment of Medical Degrees by the Emergency Committee. One seldom has the satisfaction of seeing a piece of work concluded so happily and I am glad that our struggles with the Medicul ct proved worth while.

Father Joy kindly delivered the diplomus of Cheung King Ho and Yap Jin Yau and they were immediately despatched to them.

As you know with the approval of the Committee set up by the Secretary of State to consider the rature of the University, Mr. Sloss is being most active in trying to secure supplies and equipment or the University at the earliest possible date. We have also set up by Order in Council a provisional Powere Committee in order to be able to pay arrears of salary and make any new appointments to the sterf that are considered necessary pending the time when the Senate will be able to meet again in Hong Kong. Everyone here I think recognises the importance of getting the University re-established as soon as

bssible.

With kind regards.

To

Yours sincerely,

Ale

LIEUTENANT COLON GORDON KING, L.A.C."., . 1.0.3.
