In labour, the taxi strike which had lasted for over three months, after a last-minute breakdown of negotiations which appeared final, suddenly ended with a compromise satisfactory to all parties. The agreement between the parties does not provide for reinstatement of all the former drivers, a number of them having been replaced by new drivers. It appears however to be working out satisfactorily.
