(e) Future Plans.
Further immediate expansion will depend on
two main factors:
(i) The supply of new desks and equipment.
(ii) The de-requisitioning of school buildings at present
occupied by the Services. No fewer than eight of
these are now occupied - among them are the finest
school buildings in the Colony.

FISHERIES.
The wholesale fish marketing scheme made a successful start, but
of late has come in for a certain amount of active opposition fror
the laans, this month. This opposition has temporarily been over-
come and there has been no further trouble. The value of fish
handled is as follows:-

Comments.
(a) Fresh Fish. The considerable excess of Salted Fish over
Fresh Fish is attributed chiefly to lack of ice, resulting
in fishermen having to salt a large proportion of their
catches.
(b) Fresh Pond Fish. This is disappointing and the amount
caught is below normal, but during the last month increases
have been made and it is hoped that shortly the catches will
be more normal.
(c) Prices.
The marked fall in wholesale prices, especially
in dried and salted fish, has partially achieved one of the
aims of the Fisheries Scheme.
(d) Black Market.
