The answer to Miss Ruston's question 'A'
appears to be that the Far Eastern territories are so badly off for supplies that additional
quantities from any source would be more than welcome. I do not think we can consider Hong Kong as an isolated case. If we are going to seek relief from U.N.R.R.A. we should seek it for Hong Kong, Malaya and Borneo.
But is it worth pursuing this when U.N.R.R.A. is going to come to an end in December?
If it is, the reply to (12) might be as in the draft herewith.
