I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your despatch No. 69 of 18th August, enclosing a copy of a statement on the Hong Kong Government's policy
regarding building reconstruction, and to inform_you that the measures so far taken to implement the Report of the Building Reconstruction Advisory Committee have been noted with interest, particularly the appointment of Director of Building Rehabilitation.
In due course I should be interested to see rent. the report of the Committee set up to consider and control legislation, and any comments you may have on this.
