GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG.
23rd May, 1946.
my dear Lloy
I am sending by despatch this week the names
of the present ex officio, official and unofficial members
of the Legislative Council.
(ce 29)
I am not at present asking for confirmation of
any of the provisional annointments. As was arranged when
I discussed this with you in the Colonial Office, the
confirmation of these appointments will be left over for
the present, and possibly never carried through, in view
of the likelihood that a change in the constitution may
make it desirable that they should come to an end within
the Statutory period.
I expect to propose a change very shortly among
the four provisionally appointed official members. I
shall want to have the new Director of Public Works on the
T. I. K. Lloyd, Eso., C.M.G.,
Colonial Office,
London.
