With reference to my despatch No.10 of 23rd May,
1946, I have the honour to report that Mr. Thomas Maynard Hazlerigg
has on 29th May, 1946, tendered his resignation as an official
member of the Legislative Council.
2.
I have accepted the resignation and appointed
provisionally, and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Mr. Victor
Kenniff to fill the vacancy with effect from 29th May, 1946.
3.
Mr. Kenniff is the newly appointed Director of
Public Works who arrived in the Colony on 29th May, 1946.
4.
Copies of the instrument of appointment and of the
goverment notification relating to the appointment are enclosed.
