I have the honour to refer to your telegram No. 534

of the 18th July on the subject of appointments to Executive

Council.

2.

On receipt of your telegram under reference, the

position was examined and definitive appointments of the four

unofficial members were made on 20th July. These appointments

are valid until the 27th May, 1947, the date when the previous

provisional appointments we re due to terminate. Copies of the

instruments of appointment are transmitted herewith for your

information.

3.

On the return to the Colony of Dr. P. S. Selwyn-

Clarke, Director of Medical Services, Mr. T. M. Hazlerigg

was also given a definitive appointment effective until 27th

May, 1947. A copy of the instrument of appointment is enclosed

for your information.

4.

With reference to paragraph 5 of your telegram under

reference, I am advised that no steps are required to validate

acts performed by Executive Council as constituted prior to the

new appointments reported above.
