I am directed by Mr. Secretary Hall to refer to your letter F/C of the 2nd May enquiring as to the validity of decrces dissolution of marriage made during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, and to express regret at the delay in replying to your letter.

The above question is not at present receiving consideration in the Colonial Office, but enquirics are being made of the Governor of Hong Kong in the matter, and a further letter will be sent to you on the receipt of his reply.
