in Australia but that he had reached the end of his
contract with the University. He thought, however,
that the Registrar would be willing to go back.

Mr. Morse asked whether it was proposed to approach
the Chinese now and, if so, what was proposed to offer
them. He thought we should first find out whether we
had the financial resources. He said the University
had not carried out its original objects as it never
