Faculties of Arts, Science, Engineering and Medicine are established, each with a Board and a Dean. the Board are prescribed under Statutes (Ord. Sec. 10).
The powers of
All professors, readers and lecturers in the subjects of the Faculty constitute the Board to which the Senate may add any other lecturer of the University or to which the Council may add on the recommendation of the Senate.
The Faculty is responsible for the teaching of subjects assigned to it and should report to the Senate from time to time (Stat. 18 & 19).
The Senate is established under Sec. 9(1) & (4) of the Ordinance to have the regulation of all matters relating to education in the University (subject to Statutes and to the financial control of the Council). The overriding authority of the Court is defined in Sec. 9(5).
The Senate consists of the Vice-Chancellor, the Director of Education (Hong Kong), Professors and Readers of the University. It meets at least once a term.
The powers of the Senate are defined in Statute 16. It has power to

organization, administration, research and general improvement of the University; propose persons for degrees; organize and control work of Boar award scholarships;

New Regulations are laid on the table at the next subsequent meeting of the Court, which has power to revoke any such Regulation.
There is a small Standing Committee which prepares business for the Senate and conducts routine business.

The Council is the executive body of the University and has power to administer the property and manage the affairs of the University (Ord. Sec. 9(3)).
