In my view the Advisory Committee would do well to press for Mr. Sloss's retention of his present office of Vice-Chancellor for the next few years. He is familiar with University administration and finance both in Hong Kong and other parts of the world. He knows and is known in China. His conception of the new University is in keeping with that of the Committee and his ability and determination would see the work of re-establishment through successfully.
Mrs. Forster's comments on the draft report.
Proposals:
(a)
I think the financial estimates are modest.
I should like to see family allowances introduced into the salary scheme.
(b) I hope the Advisory Comittee may make a recomendation in favour
of the appointment of women to senior posts in the new University.
