It is difficult to estimate future contributions and
subscriptions to the Fund until decisions are taken as to the size of the staff and the salaries attached to new
appointments. These decisions must await the reconstitution

Although the University has had no direct dealings with the Crown Agents hitherto, Sloss tells me that you have expressed your willingness to serve as agents in England for purchases on behalf of the University and
possibly to assist in the recruiting of technical starf.
I am sure that this will be a most valuable service for the
University but, as loss explained during the course of a visit he paid to your Ofiices recently, it is not possible to make any derinite or continuing arrangement until the University has been reconstituted and the Council is
able to meet.
