greater expenditure would surely be a sound investment.
Were the University permitted to die out, it would
indeed furnish a very black page in our Colonial history, and the
injury to British prestige in the Far East would deplorable.
I trust what I have penned above, crude and
inadequate though it inevitably is, may afford you some of the
material of which you have felt in need in your noble purpose of
bringing the fortunes of H.K.U. to the notice of influential
persons.
