Hong Kong University as set out in

your letter of the 22nd August.

an ad hoc Advisory Committee should b

established to consider the policy

which should govern the restoration

of the University and to make

recommendations as to the steps which

are required to revive the work

necessary for the immediate needs of

Hong Kong. If this idea is approved

we should like the Committee to be

in possession of the arguments as

set out in your letter. In any case

it has helped us here to clarify the

issues and we are most grateful to
