At a General Meeting of the Graduates and
Past Students of the University of Hong Kong, held after
a Reunion Dinner at the Cafe de Chine, on Wednesday, 21st
November, 1945, at which over 200 graduates and past
students were present, the following resolution was unani-
mously passed: -

"That it being the conviction of the Graduates and
Past Students of the University of Hong Kong that, in the
interests of Anglo-Chinese cultural relations and of the
educational facilities of the Colony, it is imperative that
the University, in a reorganized and expanded form worthy of
the Colony, should be reopened as soon as possible they
have noted with pleasure the remarks, recently published in
the press, of the Chief Civil Affairs Officer, regarding the
reorganization and reopening of the University; and that the
Graduates and Past Students wholeheartedly support the efforts
now being made by the Vice-Chancellor, Mr. D. J. Sloss, in
England, to attain the above-mentioned end, and wish him every
success.
