The present suggestion is that the next meeting of the Committee should be held on Thursday the 13th December. The Committee wished to consider the functions of the Harbour Master and other Harbour officials in relations to the Port Trust, and Mr. Melmoth has been instructed to go into this aspect of Harbour administration in the United Kingdom and also to study Colonial Office records regarding certain Colonial harbour arrangements (Lagos, etc.) It depends on whet progress he makes with this whether it would be worth while holding a meeting on the 13th December or whether it would be better to postpone it until the New Year.

We have as yet had no answer either from Hong Kong or Mr. Colman indicating whether he is going to Hong Kong before returning to the United Kingdom and if so at what approximate date. If we do not hear in the course of the next week or so I think it would be well to enquire by telegram.
