My dear Lawford,

Sterndale Bennett asked

me whether we had any knowledge of what happened when the Prime Minister saw General Hurley last week. I accordingly asked Mr. Churchill who has dictated the attached note on the subject.

I am sending a copy of this letter and of the note to Thornley at the Colonial Office.

Yours ever,

(sgd.) J.R. COLVILLE

V.G. Lawford, Esq., Foreign Office.
